FAQ

 1. Are you licensed waste carriers?

Yes, we are. We are registered with the Environment Agency as an upper Tier Carrier Broker Dealer.

Our Licence number is CBDU397459.

2. Are you insured?

Yes. We have public liability insurance.

3. Do you need to visit the house to quote?

Ideally yes, as it gives us a better idea of the service we need to provide for you. If you cannot attend, we can arrange to collect keys from your solicitor or estate agent. Alternatively, we can discuss your clearance requirements over the phone if you can supply images of the property to be cleared. For larger site clearance jobs, a site meeting will be required.

4. Do you need a deposit?

In most cases we do not require a deposit and disbursement fees for the waste transfer stations and other costs would be covered by your final invoice. However, in some cases when a property has a very high density of clearance, or a large site clearance may need multiple skips and or plant hire, we would then ask you for a deposit.

This would be indicated on your quote.

5. Do I need to be present at the clearance?

It's not necessary - but we are happy for you to attend if health and safety allows. We can arrange to collect and drop of keys from you, your solicitor or estate agent if convenient.

6. Will you leave the house tidy?

Yes we will. After we have cleared the house, we will sweep it and leave it in a tidy state.

7. Can you provide a deep clean?

Yes. We can book a deep clean to be carried out after we have finished and include that on your invoice.

8. Can you clear and remove other items?

Yes we can. We can offer a full or partial site-clearance service depending on your requirements.

We can remove carpet, flooring, kitchens and bathrooms and all fixtures and fittings.

If needed we can strip a whole house out ready for refurbishment and leave it empty and tidy

We have more details on the Site Clearance page.

9. Do Pitman and Green remove kitchens?

Yes. We have many years experience dealing with bespoke kitchen companies and understand the requirements and time scales that a new kitchen fit needs.

If you are having a new kitchen designed and fitted we can come in at the correct time to clear and remove your old kitchen. We can remove cabinets, bench tops and waste leaving the space ready for the incoming trades.

10. Do you clear shops and commercial spaces?

Yes we do. We have stripped and cleared shops, pubs and restaurants for operators and landlords. We can clear and leave your space empty, tidy and ready for the next phase.

11. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept bank transfer or cash. Our bank details will be on your invoice which we will email to you on completion of the services provided.

12. How much does House clearance cost?

Prices depend on the size of the property and the density of items we need to clear. Some properties may have full attics and outbuildings or need further clearance of fittings etc.

Once we have discussed your clearance needs, we can give you a clear and accurate quote.

13. Do you buy items?

We can buy good quality items and would discuss these with you when we come to quote. If we come across items while carrying out the clearance, we would call you to discuss the options in more detail.

14. Do you recycle and donate?

Yes, we do. We will donate items to charity as much as possible. This includes lower value furniture such as chests of drawers, chairs, tables, re-usable china and bric a brac, along with clothes, books etc.

Items and materials which cannot be donated are separated and taken to licensed waste transfer stations. Our vehicles are then weighed to assess the amount of waste we have delivered, and an appropriate tipping fee is charged to us. These fees are included in your quote and invoice. We also supply you with the waste transfer receipts if you require them.
